The San Francisco Symphony’s 2025/26 season promises a rich and diverse musical journey, blending timeless classics with bold new works. The season opens with superstar pianist Yuja Wang, who joins conductor Jaap van Zweden and the orchestra for a celebratory program. The Great Performers Series features solo recitals by renowned violinists Joshua Bell and Itzhak Perlman, as well as pianists Yefim Bronfman and Marc-André Hamelin. Additionally, the Academy of St Martin in the Fields and the Mahler Chamber Orchestra are set to perform, enriching the season with their esteemed artistry.

A summer of opera in Oakland is announced from West Edge Opera and more performances have been added to Eddie Izzard’s special production at A.C.T.
- Series tickets for West Edge Opera’s 2025 Festival go on sale April 1. The festival opens with the West Edge Opera commission Dolores and continues with the French Baroque masterpiece David & Jonathan, followed by a moving exploration of the human condition in Wozzeck. The festival will run August 2 through August 17 at the Oakland Scottish Rite Center.
- Due to popular demand, Eddie Izzard’s acclaimed solo performance of Shakespeare’s Hamlet has extended its San Francisco engagement at A.C.T.’s Strand Theater. Originally scheduled to run from April 1 to April 13, the production will now continue through April 20. In this dynamic staging, adapted by Mark Izzard and directed by Selina Cadell, Izzard brings her signature wit and storytelling to portray 23 characters, offering a fresh perspective on the iconic play. Tickets for the extended performances are now available.
