Help Bring “As You Like It” to Life at Cal Shakes

California Shakespeare Theater (Cal Shakes) needs your help to bring their production of As You Like It to the stage. They're launching a $350,000 fundraising campaign to complete this spectacular show, directed by the talented Elizabeth Carter, set to open on September 14, 2024. This is the only production of their reduced 50th Anniversary Season, and it's going to be amazing—but they need your support!
Executive Director Clive Worsley shared, “The last thing we wanted to do was to announce yet another emergency fundraising campaign. Every theatre is struggling with the loss of our longtime arts funding and slowly trying to rebuild our audiences, and unfortunately, we were also unable to escape that impact.”
Cal Shakes is optimistic that they can meet this goal quickly. The set, designed by Nina Ball, is ready to be installed, and Maggie Whitaker's costumes are being prepared for fittings. Rehearsals start August 13.
