April/May 2024 Events at Meany Center
Letter from the Director
Dear Friends,
Welcome to the final powerhouse performances of this Season: Chris Thile, Rhiannon Giddens, The Israeli Chamber Project with Karim Sulayman, pianist Yefim Bronfman, and the contemporary dance group Compagnie Hervé Koubi.
This month we are pleased to announce our 2024–25 Season. We are also excited to announce music phenomenon Rhiannon Giddens as our next Meany Center Artistic Partner with “The Transcendence of Cultural Connections,” an initiative featuring artists that cross borders, cultures and time.
The artists and ensembles Giddens has curated include pianist Lara Downes with This Land; Silkroad Ensemble’s Uplifted Voices; Ko Tonga Cheol’s Weaving Music in the New Ireland; Indigenous Women with Pura Fé and Charly Lowry; and Black Banjo, featuring Layla McCalla.
Next season also includes Alonzo King LINES Ballet, Emanuel Ax, Kodō and many more. For the complete lineup, see the listing on page A-6 and visit our website, meanycenter.org.
Thank you for helping to make this such an extraordinary year, and for being a part of the Meany family!
Warmly,
Michelle Witt
Executive and Artistic Director
