Shakespeare for Everyone

Shakespeare for Everyone

Seattle Shakespeare Company is committed to the true diversity of classical stories. We believe that art that is open—to adaptation, interpretation, and the recognition of the wonderful vastness of the human experience—is more interesting and enduring than art which ignores that complexity. Making Shakespeare for everybody requires expanding our idea of what classical texts are and can be. We look forward to exploring that with our community, holding a space of curiosity, openness, and care.

The audience is an essential part of building these stories. Thank you for joining us for the joy, betrayal, heartbreak, hilarity, love, and more.

For Everyone

School groups attending Student Matinees get free study guides and a post-play Q&A with the cast.

Our In-School Residencies bring active, customized curriculum into the classroom.

In spring, our Tour heads out with a small troupe of professionals to perform Shakespeare in schools and performing arts centers statewide.

Our Mission  “With the plays of William Shakespeare at our core, Seattle Shakespeare Company engages our audiences, our artists and our community in the universal human experience inherent in classic drama through the vitality, immediacy and intimacy of live performance and dynamic outreach programs.”
