Welcome
A Note From Seattle Theatre Group
On behalf of Seattle Theatre Group’s staff, board, and volunteers, welcome to the historic Paramount Theatre for this performance of Back to the Future. Whether you’re a fan of the film trilogy that this new musical version is adapted from or are jumping for the first time into the iconic 1985 tale by way of this production, you’re in for a treat! We continue to be inspired by the ways musical theater writers, composers, and creative teams shape beloved stories to be experienced in larger-than-life ways and are thrilled for Back to the Future to play in Seattle and on our stage for the very first time!
I’m going to take a hint from this story’s main character, Marty McFly — who journeys into the past and eagerly anticipates the future — and look back on some of the amazing things we accomplished at STG over the past year. 1 million audience members attended approximately 700 shows at our four venues, which is the highest combined attendance and performance numbers we’ve had since before the pandemic. Speaking of venues, I am incredibly proud of our entire team for opening a brand new (and our fourth!) venue, an outdoor concert space, at Remlinger Farms in Carnation. Creating a safe, welcoming, and beautiful environment to enjoy live music and art at is no easy feat and it couldn’t have happened without the dedication of our staff, crew, and amazing partners in the Remlinger family. We’re excited that so many of you have meaningful arts experiences in our spaces and look forward to welcoming you to shows in 2025.
You may have also heard that STG recently acquired Kerry Hall, a historic building in the Capitol Hill neighborhood that was the original home of Cornish College of the Arts. We could not be more thrilled about this immeasurably exciting addition to our family of historic buildings! Kerry Hall will be key to how we continue to expand arts opportunities and offerings for our community, and we look forward to sharing more details about the building and our goals for expansion in the new year.
Finally — and now looking to the future — as we quickly approach the end of the year, I want to thank you for your continued support of STG. We continue to make such a significant impact in our community with your help. If you have not already, please consider making a year-end gift at stgpresents.org. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the Seattle premiere of Back to the Future!
Kindest Regards,
Josh LaBelle
